Heidemij, the traditional Dutch company, had gone through fundamental and far reaching changes. Through an acquisition programme, it owned more than 30 companies all active in various areas of environmental engineering, consulting, construction and management. Interbrand created a new name Arcadis, evocative of Arcadia, the best place on earth to live, and a positioning platform 'part of a bigger picture' to express the greater value delivered by Arcadis and to communicate the sense of social responsibility at the heart of the company. A full identity programme has since been implemented.
The identity programme was led by Marksteen Adamson as Executive Creative Director.
