Oxfam needed to refresh their brand identity, not only to make themselves more relevant for today, but to bring together a worldwide global organisation underneath the one umbrella. The new symbol for Oxfam had to reflect the true nature of Oxfam’s global reach. Strong, iconic, instantantly recognisable, the symbol had to be memorable and be able to be stencilled or drawn in the sand. The solution was to link the ‘O’ and the ‘X’. Bringing them together also delivered an unexpected gift.
